Our Recent First Aid Course for a School in Maidenhead
It is always a pleasure returning to a primary school in Maidenhead for their Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work course for new and existing members of staff.
We delivered this course over two sessions; everyone enjoyed themselves and gave really good feedback. More importantly, the learners left the sessions feeling confident that if an accident ever occurs they would be able to deal with it confidently.
On the topic of first aid training in schools, it was interesting to come across this local article online. Well done to the teachers for getting involved in this situation which could have deteriorated if the right help was not on hand:
Pride of Reading: School heroines saved pupil’s life after he collapsed in the playground
“These members of staff are the heroines… If they had not acted as quickly as they did, then the child would have died.”
We believe that First Aid should be taught to everyone, including school pupils. It is essential to provide more people with the skills, ability and confidence to help in an emergency situation, which would ultimately save more lives and increase the chances of survival.
